Job summary

Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Materials Management Technician to support supply activities, ensure par level accuracy, and replenish patient care areas. The role involves receiving, stocking, and maintaining organized storage areas to guarantee uninterrupted supply delivery.

Responsibilities include stocking par levels, delivering supplies, processing requisitions, replenishing Code Carts, and inputting data into the hospital inventory system.

Qualifications

• Some post-secondary education is preferred; must read and write at eighth grade level.
• Two years of supply chain/medical supplies buyer experience in healthcare is strongly preferred.
• Must have advanced mathematical ability related to healthcare inventory (cc, mg) and bulk distribution calculations.

Responsibilities

• Check par levels for specified areas and replenish pars.
• Deliver supplies to replenish pars and fulfill requisition requests.
• Replenish Code Carts and input transactions into the Purchasing Inventory System.
• Tag, stock, and organize supplies in designated storage areas.
• Maintain clean and orderly storage areas.

Job description

The Materials ManagementTechnician is responsible for supply activities including checking par levels of specified areas, delivering supplies to replenish pars, filling and delivery of requisition requests, replenishing Code Carts, keying activities into the Purchasing Inventory System. Assists in receiving, tagging and stocking supplies in designated storage areas. Assures that all storage areas are maintained in clean and orderly fashion.

Qualifications

Education:

Some post-secondary education is preferred. Must be able to read and write the equivalent of eighth grade English.

Experience:

Two (2) years of Supply Chain and/ or Medical Supplies Buyer experience in a healthcare setting is strongly preferred. Must have some advanced mathematical ability as it relates to healthcare inventory (i.e. cc, mg) and bulk distribution and inventory calculations. Understands the correlation of the Supply Chain Technician function in the delivery of quality patient care and the ability to provide continuous services.
