Job summary

Columbus McKinnon in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a Materials Manager responsible for master production scheduling, raw material allocation, WIP coordination, and inventory management to align supply plans with SIOP objectives.

You will lead purchasing, manage ERP/MRP systems, and drive KPI reporting to improve on-time delivery and overall supply chain performance in a lean manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5–10 years related experience or equivalent
• CPIM certification is a plus
• SAP experience is a plus
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. safely

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement supply plans to meet customer orders, forecasted demand, and inventory stocking requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage inventory according to business strategy
• Participate in monthly S&OP meetings, accountable for supply chain reporting
• Ensure proper utilization of ERP systems across the team
• Prepare and report on department KPIs with analysis and countermeasures
• Maintain inventory parameters for raw materials considering lead times and constraints
• Interact with demand management, manufacturing, quality, warehousing, and transportation to resolve material issues
• Measure and report key process metrics and monitor KPIs
• Identify material shortages and develop action plans
• Define Make-to-Order and Make-to-Stock strategies
• Oversee purchasing activities and vendor relationships
• Monitor MRP recommendations and ERP reports for adequacy
• Expedite problem purchase orders when necessary
• Manage purchases, inventory levels, and delivery timing to achieve goals
• Evaluate excess/obsolete material and drive corrective actions
• Lead cost-saving initiatives and Lean improvements
• Utilize PFEP to determine inventory levels and purchase quantities
• Oversee resolution of transactional and quality issues related to materials
