Job summary

Parker Hannifin's Quick Coupling Division in Grantsburg, WI is seeking a Material Manager to lead Supply Chain Management for the plant, focusing on materials planning, scheduling, inventory control and cash flow management. You will collaborate with suppliers, production planners, and purchasing to optimize material flow and drive cost reductions.

The role requires 5+ years in purchasing/materials management, strong analytical and communication skills, and familiarity with MRP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or materials management.
• Minimum 5 years in purchasing/materials management in a world-class, high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Extensive managerial experience in materials management systems including supply chain management, cash flow and asset management, JIT, MRPII.
• APICS/CPM certification preferred.
• Analytical and technical skills to understand business practices and automation opportunities.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft PC software (spreadsheets, word processing, databases, presentations).

Responsibilities

• Matrix responsibilities for Production Planning's manufacturing resource-planning activities to achieve sales and RONA objectives and data accuracy.
• Monitor shipping/receiving performance and resolve discrepancies to fix deficiencies.
• Lead initiatives like PFEP, S&OP, kanban and other tracking systems.
• Manage location materials metrics and performance standards.
• Define and implement automated systems to plan and track material flow from customers through procurement to delivery.
• Ensure policies align with corporate inventory control objectives.
• Collaborate with purchasing and supplier management to optimize supply chains.
• Support audits related to planning, procurement and inventory controls.
• Prepare and manage department budget.
• Drive lean principles and cost reduction programs.
• Provide professional development for materials team members.
