Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a Materials Manager for our Spartanburg, SC plant. This 1st shift role (5:00 AM–2:00 PM, M-F; Saturdays as needed) leads the Plant Materials staff to achieve operational objectives and customer satisfaction.

You will oversee inventory, warehousing, and procurement of raw materials to ensure smooth production flows. Ideal candidates have five years in materials planning/scheduling, strong leadership, and experience with Plex Systems ERP.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in Materials Planner/Scheduler or closely related role.
• Leadership experience is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or related field is preferred.
• Experience with Plex Systems ERP strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Materials Department to meet operational objectives and customer satisfaction.
• Manage inventory levels and on-time shipment of finished goods.
• Coordinate warehousing, shipping, procurement, receipt and storage of raw materials.
• Maintain defined inventory levels and conduct cycle counts to ensure accuracy.
• Ensure production can operate without stoppages by managing raw materials and purchased parts.
