Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing, a leading employee-owned automotive tier-1 supplier, seeks a Materials Manager for the Spartanburg, SC plant. You will lead Materials staff, oversee inventory, shipments, and raw material procurement, and drive on-time delivery while supporting ESOP participation.

The role emphasizes training, procedure adherence, and collaboration with production, logistics, and procurement to maintain optimal flow and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ experience in a Materials Planner/Materials Scheduler or closely related role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee order processing (EDI and manual) and MRP/JRP planning.
• Manage Kanban and accumulation processes.
• Coordinate all shipping activities: scanning, labeling, loading, paperwork.
• Maintain inventory levels and perform cycle counts to >90% accuracy.
• Schedule production and analyze capacity across warehouses (Raw, Purchased, WIP, Finished).
• Ensure on-time delivery and optimal warehouse organization.

They have responsibility in the oversight of the Materials Department to achieve operational objectives and customer satisfaction.
