Job summary

Saulsbury Industries seeks a Materials Manager in Henderson, TX to oversee planning, procurement, storage, control and distribution of materials for the Fabrication facility. You will direct inventory, schedules, and shipping, partnering with Purchasing to meet project timelines.

Ideal candidates bring a Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years in materials control, with strong OS&D, reporting and office software skills to reduce costs and ensure accuracy across all material flows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred but not required.
• Seven years of experience in materials control required.
• Experience in the pipe and steel fabrication industry.
• Proficient with inventory reporting systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Directs production and inventory control, shipping and receiving, and materials storage for the Fabrication Facility.
• Directs production planning and scheduling based on project award forecasts.
• Maintains inventory levels to ensure deliveries occur within required timelines.
• Maintains and ensures accuracy of the perpetual inventory system.
• Works with purchasing department to schedule delivery of materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Oversees shipping and receiving functions related to purchased parts and finished goods for self-perform or construction only projects.
• Identifies opportunities to reduce transportation costs and charges.
• Manages and monitors storage of purchased parts and finished goods.
• Performs write-offs on damaged or obsolete inventory to reflect accurate value of inventory.
• Establishes procedures for conducting and valuing year-end physical inventory.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
