Job summary

Regal Rexnord in Fremont, CA is seeking a Materials Manager to lead purchasing, production planning and inventory management for the site, focusing on quality, cost and delivery.

You will develop strategic sourcing plans, support new product development, manage supplier performance, drive cost savings, and coordinate with Lean initiatives and ERP/MRP systems. This is a fully onsite role at your designated Regal Rexnord office.

Responsibilities

• Lead MRP/ERP impacts and interface with cross-functional teams.

SUMMARY

The Materials Manager is responsible for executing purchasing, production planning, and inventory management activities for the entire site, with a focus on best practice processes and achieving an optimal supply chain relative to metrics of Quality, Cost, and Delivery as determined by the Operating Company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop strategic plan to achieve supply chain objectives, to include identifying and implementing spend strategies for the site.
• Responsible for supporting new product development as it pertains to purchasing and production planning.
• Responsible to maintain and develop a material cost savings funnel in line with the Operating Company objectives.
• Responsible for driving identified and approved projects to completion.
• Manage sourcing projects.
• Manage supplier performance through supplier scorecards working with Supplier Quality Engineer.
• Measure monthly and annual materials goals that support the site objectives.
• Utilize value stream mapping and other lean tools to streamline processes and minimize inventory.
• Participates in the SIOP process.
• Assist in product life cycle analysis process for the Kanban/ERP and own all direct material Kanban implementation and management.
• Maintain an assertive follow-up system to ensure plant production schedule compliance.
• Understand impacts to MRP & ERP with any future system changes.
• Interface with Management, Supervision, Customer Service, Quality, Finance, Engineering and Operations.
• Evaluates and suggests Make/Buy decisions.
• Negotiate MRO/Indirect material contracts and other major capital purchases.
