Job summary

INSPYR Solutions is seeking a Materials Manager in Wilmington, MA for a 6-month assignment. This role oversees inbound receiving, outbound shipping, and inventory management across a high-variety, low-volume environment.

You will lead a small team, drive process improvements, and coordinate with production planning and engineering to ensure material availability for builds. The position requires 5+ years in warehouse/materials management, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in warehouse management, materials management, or shipping/receiving operations.
• Experience managing inventory in a high-mix, low-volume environment with many SKUs.
• Experience managing a small team (material handlers, shipping/receiving associates).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with inventory tracking tools (spreadsheets, barcode scanners, lightweight WMS).
• Comfort working without a mature ERP system and building practical solutions with available tools.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Verify shipments against purchase orders and inspect for damage.
• Coordinate outbound shipping for returns, transfers, and supplier exchanges.
• Process high volume of diverse incoming materials.
• Schedule deliveries with carriers and manage dock appointments.
• Maintain receiving logs and communicate material arrival to production planning.
• Lead and develop a small team of material handlers and receiving specialists.
• Collaborate with production planning, supply chain, and engineering on material availability.
• Support production readiness reviews by confirming material availability.
