Job summary

GE Vernova International LLC in Schenectady, NY, seeks a Materials Manager to lead the COE materials organization, driving wing-to-wing processes, on-time delivery and inventory reduction.

Qualifications

• 5+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

• SAP experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of supply chain management, including production and inventory control, cost productivity, fulfillment metrics, and cost systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead, manage and communicate with all levels of the business.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to SIOP & S&OE processes: timing, release requirements, capacity, and lead-times.

• Ensure master and production schedules are synchronized using ERP (PMx) and other tools.
• Provide training on planning tools and monitor usage.
• Report and monitor materials KPIs: on-time delivery, inventory balance, and turns.
• Lead and monitor logistics activities: receipts, days to stock, cycle counts, shortages.

Job Description Summary

The Generator Components COE materials manager will be responsible for leading the materials organization focused on the execution of wing-to-wing materials processes and continuous improvement. This role will partner closely with operations to execute on-time delivery objectives while implementing materials strategies to reduce inventory and improve material flow.

Job Description Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of materials personnel in materials planning, procurement requirements, production control and inventory control, demonstrating strong integration with manufacturing operations teams and cross-functional stakeholders
• Ensures that standard materials processes and standard KPIs are used to provide the best delivery with the lowest inventory cost for the assigned area
• Implement LEAN material practices and standards
• Support the SIOP & S&OE processes: contribute to material procurement timing, order release requirements, available capacity, & lead-times
• Lead capacity requirements planning (CRP) processes by gathering & loading information into planning tools, analyzing data, and providing regular updates
• Ensure that the master schedule and production schedules are synchronized using ERP (PMx) and other tools.
• Ensure that training and skills necessary to use planning tools are provided and tools are monitored for appropriate use.
• Report and monitor COE materials-related KPIs: on time to promise, on time to need, system health & usage, master data adherence, inventory balance, and inventory turns.
• Lead and monitor all the logistics activities such as incoming receipts, days to stock, inventory accuracy (cycle counts), and shortages
• Demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals/programs/processes for an area or business segment.
• Uses experience and expertise to solve problems.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $122,600.00 and $204,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
