Job summary

Nelson Global Products Inc. in Indiana seeks a Materials Manager to develop and maintain plant processes for inventory and material control to support on-time delivery.

You will manage ERP-driven material planning, drive inventory turns, and lead a team to optimize raw material and component flow while collaborating with sourcing and production for PPAP readiness and continuous improvement.

Position Overview:

The Materials Manager will develop and maintain plant processes and procedures to manage inventory and materials within the plant to AOP level to improve on-time deliveries to customers.

Primary Responsibilities & Duties:

• Inventory Management to AOP Plan
• Order management of Customer orders and demands/EDI orders
• Responsible for managing ERP system parameter settings that drive material planning requirements in pursuit of continuously improving inventory turns without disrupting manufacturing schedules
• Planning raw material and supply chain to ensure plant production needs are met
• Manage Excess & Obsolete Inventory Review and disposition
• Troubleshoot logistic demands for both customers and suppliers
• Drive value added activities with the plant personnel and engineering to improve material yield and reduce scrap
• Proactively work with Corporate Sourcing and Material Planning groups to achieve successful and timely PPAP approvals of new suppliers/products. Collaborate with those same teams to resolve supplier delivery/quality/pricing issues
• Manage the Materials staff at the plant
• Drive Continuous Improvement within the Materials processes and procedures

Required Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent
• 3+ years of Materials experience
• Experience with most aspects of Plant operations and processes

• Considerable knowledge of all Plant functions

• Excellent interpersonal skills
