Job summary

Nelson Global Products, Inc. is seeking a Materials Manager in Fort Wayne, IN to lead inventory planning and material control at the plant level. The role focuses on maintaining processes to manage materials to AOP levels and improve on-time deliveries to customers.

You will oversee ERP-driven planning, drive inventory turns without disrupting production, and manage the Materials staff while partnering with sourcing and planning teams to ensure PPAP readiness for new suppliers and products.

Position Overview:

The Materials Manager will develop and maintain plant processes and procedures to manage inventory and materials within the plant to AOP level to improve on-time deliveries to customers.

Primary Responsibilities & Duties:

• Inventory Management to AOP Plan
• Order management of Customer orders and demands/EDI orders
• Responsible for managing ERP system parameter settings that drive material planning requirements in pursuit of continuously improving inventory turns without disrupting manufacturing schedules
• Planning raw material and supply chain to ensure plant production needs are met
• Manage Excess & Obsolete Inventory Review and disposition
• Troubleshoot logistic demands for both customers and suppliers
• Drive value added activities with the plant personnel and engineering to improve material yield and reduce scrap
• Proactively work with Corporate Sourcing and Material Planning groups to achieve successful and timely PPAP approvals of new suppliers/products. Collaborate with those same teams to resolve supplier delivery/quality/pricing issues
• Manage the Materials staff at the plant
• Drive Continuous Improvement within the Materials processes and procedures

Required Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent
• 3+ years of Materials experience
• Experience with most aspects of Plant operations and processes
