Job summary

A leading manufacturer in temperature control systems is seeking a Materials Manager. You will oversee procurement, manage supplier relationships, and implement new processes to enhance efficiency. As Materials Manager, you will work closely with vendors as well as the Purchasing, Accounting and Quality teams to manage materials costs, OTD and quality. You will work closely with a team of Buyer/Planners worldwide to plan, schedule, and optimize inventory. Additionally, you will need to be able to develop and implement new processes to streamline efficiency and reduce costs. You will meet with the management teams at different sites to report KPIs and provide guidance to improve operations.

To be successful in this role, you'll need excellent communication and leadership skills to develop relationships with vendors, team members, and other stakeholders. You'll also need knowledge of industry standards for Purchasing, Materials management and regulations (Copy Exact) and safety measures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage the Procurement of materials, supplies, and equipment necessary for production.
  • Support the transition to a new ERP system, assisting in implementation and creation of standards.
  • Train, mentor and develop operating procedures to manage efficiencies in Purchasing and Warehouse.
  • Develop and track KPIs to provide feedback to the team, management and drive corrective actions.
  • Plan inventory levels and manage stock levels to ensure materials are available when needed.
  • Monitor supply chain to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency.
  • Develop and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Evaluate and implement new materials sourcing opportunities to improve cost and supply chain efficiency.
  • Work closely with production team to forecast material requirements and adjust procurement schedules accordingly.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers to ensure favorable terms for the company.
COMPETENCIES
  • 8+ years of leadership experience in a Procurement/Planning environment is required.
  • Experience in the semi-conductor industry is a plus
  • Ability to motivate the team by experience and professional environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are a must.
Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be in a stationary position; move within the facilities, constantly operate computer equipment, inspect surroundings and documentation, communicate with others, detect odors, and transport office materials up to 20 pounds.
