US Farathane is seeking an experienced Materials Manager to lead and oversee the Materials function at our Georgetown, Texas manufacturing facility. The Materials Manager is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient flow of raw materials, components, packaging, work-in-process, and finished goods throughout the facility.
This position will provide leadership to Production Scheduling, Inventory Control, Shipping & Receiving, Material Handling, and Customer Service activities while ensuring customer requirements are met safely, efficiently, and on time.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in automotive manufacturing, injection molding, materials management, production planning, inventory control, and customer delivery requirements.
Lead and manage all Materials Department activities, including scheduling, inventory control, shipping, receiving, material handling, and customer service.
Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer demand, inventory levels, available capacity, and material availability.
Ensure customer requirements are met with 100% on-time delivery whenever possible.
Monitor customer releases, forecasts, schedules, and demand changes and communicate impacts to Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Operations.
Ensure adequate availability of raw materials, components, packaging, and other production requirements.
Manage inventory accuracy and establish appropriate inventory levels while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
Oversee cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, physical inventory, and investigation of inventory discrepancies.
Monitor material shortages and develop recovery plans to prevent production interruptions.
Coordinate material flow throughout the plant to support efficient production.
Oversee shipping and receiving activities to ensure accurate and timely movement of materials and finished goods.
Monitor and reduce premium freight, expedited shipments, material shortages, and other logistics-related costs.
Work closely with Purchasing to address supplier shortages, delivery issues, and material requirements.
Partner with Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Customer Service to resolve scheduling and material issues.
Support new program launches, engineering changes, production trials, and customer launches from a materials perspective.
Ensure proper control of customer-owned material, tooling, packaging, and inventory as applicable.
Establish and maintain material handling and inventory control procedures.
Lead and develop Materials personnel through training, coaching, performance management, and accountability.
Establish department goals and KPIs and communicate performance to plant leadership.
Identify opportunities to improve inventory turns, material flow, labor efficiency, customer delivery, and overall materials costs.
Participate in continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and cost-reduction initiatives.
Ensure compliance with company policies, quality requirements, safety procedures, and applicable OSHA regulations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe materials and warehouse environment.

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Logistics, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
Equivalent education and significant relevant manufacturing experience may be considered.
5+ years of progressive experience in Materials, Supply Chain, Production Planning, Logistics, or Manufacturing.
2+ years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
Automotive manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
Experience with injection molding or plastics manufacturing strongly preferred.
Experience working with customer production releases and delivery requirements.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling software.
Strong understanding of inventory control, material flow, shipping/receiving, and production planning.
Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems.
Production scheduling and capacity planning.
Inventory management and cycle counting.
Customer releases and EDI requirements.
Shipping and receiving operations.
Supplier and customer communication.

The Materials Manager will be responsible for establishing expectations, developing employees, monitoring performance, and maintaining accountability across the department.
