Materials Manager

Full-time

Responsibilities

Position Summary

Maintains availability of materials, supplies, and equipment to user departments as required for patient care. Ensures materials are stored safely and securely, processed expeditiously with proper paperwork, and that a budget control system helps contain costs without impacting product quality or patient care. Performs work that may involve heavy lifting.

Specific Duties

• Maintains close liaison with inventory control to ensure stock levels are adequate within assigned categories.
• Coordinates with departments and receiving personnel to resolve delivery issues.
• Analyzes stock reports to determine re-order points and places orders accordingly.
• Rotates inventory to prevent expiration and remove outdated stock.
• Handles shipping and receiving functions, ensuring proper processing of packing slips and purchase orders.
• Processes all incoming and outgoing mail, including daily pickups and deliveries, and manages internal mail racks.
• Supervises the annual inventory of the central supply area.
• Restocks nursing station supplies daily to maintain appropriate levels.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required
• At least 2 years of experience handling and receiving materials

Preferred Experience

• Knowledge of the healthcare industry preferred
• Previous supervisory experience preferred
