Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, CT is seeking a Materials Management - Shipyard Construction Support Rep (1st shift) to support Columbia Class submarine construction from our Groton facility.

You will manage material requirements, scheduling, expediting, data reporting, and coordination with program offices and other departments. This on-site role requires strong project management and Excel skills to ensure timely material flow for complex programs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required.
5+ years in supply chain management, inventory, or project planning.
Familiarity with quality control/quality analyst functions.
Experience with MRPII/Oracle and ERP systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros, charts).

Responsibilities

Interpret technical requirements and manage material planning for submarine construction.
Perform program management, data management, project reporting and expediting.
Analyze material availability, forecast requirements, and scheduling; support make-or-buy decisions.
Monitor and resolve issues with purchased/subcontract materials.
Coordinate with EB program offices, operations, planning, finance, purchasing and quality departments.
