Job summary

Montgomery County Hospital District is seeking a Materials Management Coordinator in Conroe, TX. The role oversees medical and logistical supply chains, including purchasing, inventory management, vendor relations, and distribution, while providing backup support to the Materials Management Manager and Equipment Specialist.

You will guide daily workflows, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate with Distribution Technicians, Warehouse Technicians, and Inventory Specialists across locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• 2 years of experience in EMS operations, inventory control, or warehouse supply chain management.
• Proficiency with basic word processing, spreadsheets, email and internet tools; familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions through Laserfiche and Operative IQ.
• Input new employees, restock supplies, and troubleshoot COLO locker system issues.
• Order and track expenditures for staff uniforms and related items.
• Prepare and fulfill internal distribution center requests to ensure timely item delivery.
• Perform bi-weekly quality audits for expirations and cleanliness.
• Coordinate integration of new disposable medical supplies and medication changes.
• Safely operate DME equipment as backup to Equipment Specialist.
• Oversee stock levels, vendor relations, and distribution to frontline staff.
• Communicate supply delays or changes with Manager and Medical Directors as needed.
• Support staff performance evaluations for Materials Manager.

DEPARTMENT: Materials Management

REPORTS TO: Materials Management Manager

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

SUMMARY

The Materials Management Coordinator oversees all medical and logistical supply chains, including purchasing, inventory control, vendor relations, and distribution. In this role, you will provide critical backup support to both the Equipment Specialist and the Materials Management Manager. Additionally, you will lead daily workflows and ensure regulatory compliance across the logistics team, including Distribution Technicians, Warehouse Technicians, and Inventory Specialists.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process purchase requisitions through Laserfiche and Operative IQ
• Input new employees, restock supplies, and troubleshoot issues pertaining to the COLO locker system
• Order and track expenditures for all HCAP and support staff uniforms
• Prepare and fulfill orders for internal teams through resource center requests to ensure item delivery and timely closeout of tickets.
• Perform station bi-weekly quality audits to verify compliance with expirations and cleanliness.
• Coordinate the integration of new disposable medical supplies and medication changes at all locations
• Proficiently and safely operates all task-related DME equipment, serving as the primary backup for the Equipment Specialist
• Oversees medical and logistical supply stock, vendor relations, and distribution to frontline responders
• Communicates effectively with Manager and, as directed, with field staff pertaining to supply delays or supply changes in conjunction with Medical Directors.
• Provide input to Materials Manager for staff performance evaluations
• As assigned, employees are required to be on-call and respond during emergency events, including, but not limited to severe weather and declared disasters.
• Other duties as deemed necessary.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Some college preferred.
• 2 years of prior experience in EMS Operations, inventory control, or warehouse supply chain management.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Basic word processing, spreadsheet, email and internet skills required.
• Experience in ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle)
• Operative IQ knowledge preferred

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Current Texas Driver’s License.
• Remain insurable by the current insurance vendor of MCHD.
• Required NIMS Training as referenced in the Safety & Emergency Management Policy SEM 27-201.
