Job summary

Whisker in Wisconsin is seeking a Materials Manager to lead procurement, planning, inventory control, and warehousing. You will drive BOM alignment and material availability to support manufacturing, growth, and top-tier customer service.

You’ll manage a team of buyers, planners and warehouse staff, collaborating with engineering, quality, finance and marketing to optimize cost, service levels, and inventory turns while ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years experience in Materials Leadership.
• Experience leading purchasing, planning, supplier, and inventory teams.
• Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and scheduling principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across levels.
• Ability to cover for team and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee material resource planning to meet production schedules and targets.
• Lead buyers to ensure on-time delivery of components.
• Oversee production planning and scheduling to meet demand.
• Coordinate capacity planning to meet tactical and strategic goals.
• Drive improvements in service, inventory, material flow and cost.
• Manage warehouses, receiving, storage and transfers.
• Support BOM builds, pilot runs and new program launches.
• Champion continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.
