Job summary

Flex is seeking a Materials Lead (Maintenance) based in Austin, TX. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, you will lead the materials team and oversee shipping, receiving, storing, issuing, and delivering materials and supplies.

The role requires at least 3 years in materials or warehouse operations, experience as a team lead, and proficiency with MS Office and warehouse systems. A valid driver's license is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience with MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience in warehouse operations or materials handling.
  • Knowledge of inventory control and shipping/receiving processes.
  • Experience leading a small team or work group is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the activities of subordinates to ensure smooth operations.
  • Reviews and improves complex work procedures for efficiency and safety.
  • Maintains accurate inventory records and paperwork for documentation.
  • Designs stockroom layout and optimizes storage space.

Materials Lead (Maintenance)

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Materials Lead located in Austin, TX.

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Materials Lead is responsible for leading the work of others and participates in work related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies. Works with independence in carrying out duties with limited supervision.

E Shift: 6:00am-6:00pm (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday every other Wednesday)

What a typical day looks like:

  • Coordinates the activities of subordinates.

  • Reviews difficult or complex work procedures to resolve questions presented by workers.

  • Ensures accurate, up-to-date records of inventory in stockroom and daily operations; completes necessary forms or paperwork for documentation.

  • Designs stockroom layout and oversees rearranging process.

  • Oversees and participates in counting, weighing and measuring incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information and verify against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.

  • Examines incoming shipments for damage or shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify; fills out appropriate forms or documents.

  • Fills orders and issues materials and supplies per requests; documents transactions, prepares requisitions and computes costs; keeps records of storeroom inventory.

  • Oversees and participates in ordering or purchasing a variety of stock items such as recommending changes to standard items or stock levels and ordering items using independent judgment within established limits.

  • Determines method of shipment based on knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates; packages, weighs and marks container for shipment; prepares necessary forms such as bills of lading.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 3 years of materials, warehouse, inventory, shipping/receiving, or logistics experience.

  • Previous experience as a Team Lead, Lead Material Handler, Warehouse Lead, Work Lead, or similar lead role is strongly preferred.

  • Comfortable using computers and warehouse systems, including Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

  • Experience maintaining inventory accuracy, processing shipments, and supporting daily warehouse operations.

  • Use of the following tools may be required: forklifts, electronic scales, pallet jacks, measuring tools, and alignment tools.

  • Use of the following tools may be required: MS Office Skills: typing, telephones, office software to include, word processing, spreadsheets, presentation package and database systems.

  • Warehouse skills: forklift, electronic scales, pallet jack, measuring tools, and alignment tools.

  • Required good clerical and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers.

  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
