Job summary

Construction Material Testing in Pittsburgh is seeking a Laboratory Technician who turns field samples into numbers under a documented quality system. You will perform Proctor curves, sieve analyses, Atterberg limits, moisture contents, and strength tests, with calibrated equipment and real accountability for every result.

You will train inside the AASHTO R18 framework, build competency records, and advance toward certification paths such as ACI lab and NICET levels as you gain scope from soils

Qualifications

• Careful hands with clean documentation habits.
• Prior lab or CMT experience is a plus, not required — training provided.
• Comfortable with repetitive precision work done right every time.

Responsibilities

• Perform ASTM D698, D1557, D2216, D4318, C136, and C39 testing
• Maintain calibration, standardization, and quality records
• Log samples and preserve chain of custody
• Break cylinders and report strength results same day
• Support proficiency sample programs and accreditation assessments
