Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Laboratory Technician who will turn field samples into precise numbers for projects, using Proctor curves, sieve analyses, Atterberg limits, moisture contents, and compressive strength data.

You will work within a documented AASHTO R18 quality system with calibrated equipment and real accountability for every result. Training is provided, with a clear path toward laboratory supervision as you gain expertise in soils and concrete benches.

Qualifications

• Careful hands, clean documentation habits, mechanical aptitude
• Prior lab or CMT experience a plus, not required — we train
• Comfortable with repetitive precision work done right every time

Responsibilities

• Perform ASTM testing as listed (D698, D1557, D2216, D4318, C136, C39)
• Maintain calibration, standardization, and quality records
• Log samples and preserve chain of custody
• Break cylinders and report strength results same day
• Support proficiency sample programs and accreditation assessments
