Job summary

Construction Material Testing in West Jordan, Utah, seeks a Laboratory Technician to transform field samples into numbers using Proctor curves, sieve analyses, Atterberg limits, moisture contents, and compressive strength tests within an AASHTO R18 quality system.

You will perform ASTM testing, maintain calibration and records, log samples, break cylinders, and support proficiency programs with overtime during peak seasons. This is a facility-based role with some field sampling as needed.

Qualifications

• Careful hands with clean documentation habits and mechanical aptitude.
• Prior lab or CMT experience is a plus but training is provided.
• Comfortable with repetitive precision work done right every time.

Responsibilities

• Perform ASTM testing (D698, D1557, D2216, D4318, C136, C39).
• Maintain calibration, standardization, and quality records.
• Log samples and preserve chain of custody.
• Break cylinders and report strength results same day.
• Support proficiency sample programs and accreditation assessments.
