Job summary

Tomball Controls, LLC is seeking a diligent Material Handler to prepare, stage, and deliver materials to production teams, ensuring timely accuracy for smooth manufacturing flow.

Responsibilities include reading BOMs, labeling kits, and coordinating with inventory to prevent shortages; forklift operation and 5S-compliant staging are essential. High school diploma required and ERP familiarity preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1–2 years of manufacturing, warehouse, or kitting experience preferred, sheet metal or electrical assembly experience is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints, BOMs, and work instructions.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory practices.
• Basic computer skills and data entry; use of scanners and printers.
• Forklift or material handling certification (or willingness to become certified).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Proficient with MS Office and related software.

Responsibilities

• Pull, verify, and stage all materials according to job travelers, BOMs, and production schedules.
• Accurately read and interpret work orders, schematics, and part lists to identify required components.
• Label and organize kits clearly for easy identification and transfer to assembly or fabrication areas.
• Ensure materials meet quality and quantity requirements; report shortages or defects.
• Coordinate with inventory control to maintain stock levels and identify replenishment needs.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or carts to transport kits and materials.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitting and staging areas to support 5S and lean manufacturing.
• Assist with receiving, cycle counting, and other materials-related tasks.
• Collaborate with production, planning, and purchasing teams to resolve part or kitting issues.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
