Job summary

Tufts University School of Dental Medicine seeks a Materials Assistant to manage storeroom operations, track inventory, and coordinate daily deliveries with accuracy against packing slips.

You will review purchase orders, process receiving, forward packing slips to Accounts Payable, maintain central stock, fulfill internal requests, perform routine counts, handle returns, and provide timely reports. Customer service and clear communication with departments are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Microsoft Office suite knowledge (word processing, spreadsheets, databases).
• Strong integrity and commitment to patient satisfaction.
• Clear and professional communication.
• Attention to detail and listening skills.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a team.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand, bend, and move as required.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Health care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage storeroom operations and inventory tracking.
• Receive daily deliveries and verify contents against packing slips.
• Review purchase orders and perform PO receiving, noting shortages or damages.
• Forward packing slips to Accounts Payable for three-way matching and payment.
• Maintain central storeroom stock and routine replenishment.
• Fill and deliver internal storeroom orders to dispensaries/departments.
• Perform inventory counts for Dispensaries and Ancillary departments.
• Process returns for damaged or incorrect shipments to vendors.
• Generate daily reports tracking orders and statuses.
• Provide excellent customer service and clear communication with departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
