Job summary

Appalachian Power Co. is seeking an entry-level Material Services associate to manage inventory, operate storerooms and storage yards, and perform related duties in Wheeling, WV.

You will work under supervision as you progress from assisting to independent work, gaining hands-on experience with shipping, receiving, and material handling. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, at least one year in inventory or warehousing, basic computer skills, and the ability to lift up to 70 pounds

Qualifications

• One year of inventory control and related warehousing experience required.
• Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of logistics for shipping/relocation.
• Ability to perform math functions, work independently, and communicate well.

Responsibilities

• Issue material with proper authorization and file records; may include picking up, hauling, delivering materials and operating company vehicles.
• Check received material for quantity and condition; initiate material receipt records.
• Operate material handling equipment and use inventory management systems; assist in stocking and locating materials.
• Maintain inventory levels through cycle counts and adjust discrepancies with approval.
• Ensure safety rules, procedures, and company regulations are followed.
