Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a Stores Attendant to support the Material Services team. You will issue materials, inspect receipts, and maintain storage yards while ensuring accuracy and safety.

Responsibilities include using Maximo for inventory, operating forklifts, and preparing shipments. Requires a high school diploma or GED, 1 year in inventory control, ability to lift 70 pounds, and a valid state driver's license; CDL may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 1 year in inventory control/warehousing or related work.
• Basic computer skills to use inventory management software such as Maximo; Excel and Word preferred.
• Physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds and operate material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Issue material under proper authorization and process related records.
• Inspect received material for quantity, identity, and condition; process receipts.
• Record material returned, place usable stock, and sort non-usable items.
• Operate material handling equipment and computer terminals supporting a material management system.
• Prepare and pack material for shipment or storage, including hazardous materials handling under safety procedures.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels through cycle counts and discrepancy adjustments.
• Support supervisors and coworkers and perform duties in accordance with safety rules.
