Responsibilities

  • Maintain asset records with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance.

Airswift has been tasked by one of our major clients to find a Materials Handler IV to work for initially Six-Months contract in Midland, TX Work Schedule: 9/80 Job Type: W2 contract (One Year with possibility for extension) Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, 3% matching 401k

Position Summary The company is seeking a highly motivated Material Handler / Asset Recovery Coordinator to support field operations throughout the Permian Basin. This role is responsible for identifying, evaluating, tracking, and coordinating the movement of company-owned materials and equipment from field locations to inventory yards, disposal vendors, or approved buyers. The ideal candidate has experience in oilfield operations, warehouse logistics, inventory management, and material handling. Successful candidates are safety-focused, mechanically inclined, comfortable working independently in the field, and experienced with inventory systems such as SAP.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel to company field locations to identify equipment, verify quantities, assess condition, and document assets.
  • Evaluate whether equipment can be redeployed, stored for future use, sold, or scrapped.
  • Coordinate the removal, transportation, storage, disposal, or sale of surplus equipment and materials.
  • Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and other internal stakeholders to maintain accurate asset records.
  • Process equipment transfers, receipts, inventory transactions, and material movements within SAP.
  • Coordinate with vendors, trucking companies, scrap yards, and inventory facilities to support field cleanup activities.
  • Ensure proceeds from equipment sales are properly documented and communicated to Finance.
  • Load, unload, transport, and stage materials at inventory yards and operational locations.
  • Receive, inspect, identify, and verify materials using part numbers, descriptions, and inventory documentation.
  • Accurately maintain inventory records and transaction documentation.
  • Count, weigh, measure, and record materials handled or moved.
  • Label, tag, and organize materials in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain clean and organized warehouses, yards, and work areas.
  • Follow all company safety practices, environmental requirements, and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of experience in material handling, warehouse operations, inventory management, logistics, or oilfield operations.
  • Experience working in the Permian Basin or similar oilfield environments preferred.
  • Forklift operating experience required.
  • Ability to safely operate material handling equipment and work around heavy equipment.
  • Experience with inventory systems, ERP systems, or SAP preferred.
  • Strong understanding of shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse processes.
  • Ability to identify oilfield materials, equipment, fittings, valves, pipe, and related inventory items.
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience with:
  • SAP inventory transactions
  • Oilfield equipment and asset management
  • Supply chain or warehouse operations
  • Vendor coordination
  • Forklift certification
  • Material recovery, salvage, or asset disposition programs
  • Knowledge of Occidental operational practices and inventory processes.
  • Safety certifications such as OSHA, H2S, First Aid, or CPR.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and lifting.
  • Ability to repetitively lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the Permian Basin.
  • Ability to safely navigate active industrial and oilfield environments.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
