Job summary

Vulcan Industries is seeking a Material Handler to ensure safe, accurate, and timely movement of materials across the facility. You will support manufacturing, warehouse, shipping, and receiving with a focus on inventory accuracy and efficiency.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and experienced with forklifts. This role requires basic math, close attention to stock location, and strict adherence to company safety policies in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum six months forklift operating experience.
• Ability to obtain forklift certification.
• Basic math skills for daily tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, labels and documents.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication in English.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Commitment to workplace safety and company policies.
• Operate forklifts and powered industrial trucks to move materials.
• Load and unload shipments accurately and efficiently.
• Stage materials to support production and shipping activities.
• Record material transactions using ERP/barcode systems.
• Verify quantities and storage locations for inventory accuracy.
• Assist with cycle counts and physical inventories.
• Conduct daily pre-shift inspections of equipment.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials to production areas.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment per OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Move raw materials, WIP, and finished goods safely and efficiently.
• Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks.
• Record transactions in ERP/barcode systems to allocate inventory.
• Verify material quantities and locations to ensure accuracy.
• Support cycle counts and physical inventories as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
