Job summary

Vulcan Industries in Vincent, Alabama, is seeking a Material Handler to move raw materials, work-in-process inventory, and finished goods safely and efficiently, operating forklifts and related equipment to support production and inventory accuracy.

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, conduct daily pre-shift inspections, assist with cycle counts and inventory transactions, and uphold OSHA standards and company safety policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of six (6) months of forklift operating experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Forklift Certification.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Ability to read, interpret, and compare words, numbers, labels, and work orders accurately.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment to transport, load, unload, stack, and store materials efficiently, accurately, and safely.

Responsibilities

• Move raw materials, WIP inventory, and finished goods through the facility.
• Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assist with staging materials for production and distribution activities.
• Utilize barcode scanners and inventory systems to track transactions.
• Support cycle counts and physical inventories to maintain accuracy.
• Conduct daily pre-shift inspections of equipment and report issues.
• Follow all safety policies and OSHA guidelines and maintain clean work areas.
