Job summary

Chicago Tube and Iron Company in Locust, NC is seeking a Regular Full-Time worker to safely operate saws and other equipment to process, package and load material.

The role requires operating forklifts, cranes, and loaders to move inventory in the warehouse, loading/unloading trucks and verifying material counts. A good mechanical aptitude and basic math/computer skills are important, along with the ability to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• Good mechanical aptitude with manufacturing or fabrication experience preferred.
• Experience using standard shop tools and inspection measuring tools.
• Ability to operate overhead cranes, forklifts, side loaders, saws, banding or order packing is preferred.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to read blueprints/shop drawings is a plus.
• Sit, stand and walk 6-8 hours per day.
• Regularly maneuver up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate saw, or other equipment to process, package, and load.
• Operate forklift, Raymond side loader, and overhead crane to move material in the warehouse.
• Load and unload trucks using handling equipment, place materials in storage locations.
• May receive/inspect and verify the material count.
