Job summary

NorthSlopeTelecom,Inc. (NSTI) seeks a dependable Materials Handler to support warehouse operations and telecommunications projects in Anchorage, Alaska. You will receive materials, verify quantities and documentation, and prepare shipments.

This full-time role requires up to two years of warehouse experience, a valid driver's license, and safety-consciousness. You will work hands-on with forklifts and inventory systems while maintaining organized work areas and accurate records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Up to two years of related experience in warehouse ops and logistics.
• Active and valid driver's license.
• Basic understanding of warehouse organization and safe handling practices.
• Ability to read and follow packing slips and labels.
• Ability to learn and use computers and scanners.
• Ability to safely lift and move materials per safety rules.
• Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate discrepancies promptly.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming materials and verify quantities, condition, identification, and documentation.
• Match packing slips, labels, and shipment information with purchase orders or project records.
• Identify and report damaged, missing, incorrect, or unidentified materials.
• Pick and kit materials using approved pick lists, bills of material, and project requests.
• Package, label, protect, and stage materials for shipment, pickup, delivery, or field use.
• Load, unload, lift, carry, palletize, wrap, and safely move materials.
• Maintain organized warehouse, yard, shop, and staging areas.
• Support inventory reviews, cycle counts, material reconciliation, and location checks.
• Prepare materials for shipment and coordinate local deliveries with project and field personnel.
• Maintain accurate receiving, inventory, staging, shipment, and discrepancy records.
• Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment only when properly trained and authorized.
• Follow all company safety procedures and promptly report hazards, damaged equipment, or material-handling concerns.

Required Qualifications

• Activeandvaliddriver’slicense.
• Basicunderstandingofwarehouseorganizationandsafematerial-handlingpractices.
• Abilitytoreadandfollowpackingslips,labels,picklists,kitlists,andmaterial-handlinginstructions.
• Abilitytolearnandusecomputers,tablets,scanners,inventorysystems,andmaterial-trackingtools.

Physical and Working Conditions
