Job Title: Materials Handler

Location: Simi Valley, CA

Duration: 6 months contract

Shift: 1st shift

Job Description

The Materials Handler ensures the proper and timely flow of all materials and products from arrival until stored or shipped, following established policies and procedures. Performs physical or administrative tasks involved in shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, storing, and distributing materials, parts, supplies, and equipment, while adhering to safety regulations.

Core Responsibilities

1. Receives, stocks, and disburses parts or materials, loads or unloads trucks, and distributes parts, materials, and supplies to team members as required.
2. Unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices.
3. Maintains records of received goods and rejects unsatisfactory items.
4. Examines stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines.
5. Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped.
6. Follows all safety policies and procedures.
7. Posts weights and shipping charges; prepares goods for final shipment.

Additional Responsibilities

Other duties as assigned. Regular, punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights, weekends, and additional hours as necessary.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; relevant education and work experience are acceptable.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Skills in writing, communication, and math.
• Proficient in using powered industrial trucks, material handling equipment, and small hand tools.
