Job summary

ManpowerGroup is seeking a Materials Handler for our Buffalo Grove site to ensure accurate receiving, safe material movement, and timely delivery of materials. The role supports warehouse and production, requiring attention to detail and a safety-first mindset.

The position features first-shift hours (6:30am - 3:00pm) with training and onboarding as part of the ramp-up. There is potential for extension beyond 13 weeks and benefits enrollment after waiting period.

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving duties with accuracy and efficiency to support on-time receipt and delivery of material.

• Move materials safely using pallet trucks and maintain safe lifting practices.
• Keep work area clean and follow procedures, pick lists, and protocols.
• Identify and help resolve basic inventory discrepancies.

Job description

Our client is seeking a Materials Handler to join their team. As a Materials Handler, you will be part of the Warehouse/Production support team, helping ensure accurate receiving, safe material movement, and on-time delivery of materials. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Pay Range: $18.38/hour

Shift: 1st shift (6:30am - 3:00pm)

What's the Job?

• Perform receiving duties with accuracy and efficiency, supporting warehouse operations to help ensure on-time receipt and delivery of material.
• Support picking, packing, and shipping activities at the Buffalo Grove site, including reading, counting, and matching product details using a scanner and calculator.
• Move materials safely and damage-free using pallet trucks and other material handling equipment; maintain safe lifting practices at all times.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment and follow material handling work procedures, pick lists, and established protocols.
• Help identify and diagnose basic inventory discrepancies and perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.

What's Needed?

• Proven experience in receiving and material handling (warehouse picking and production support experience is a plus).
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs (max lifting weight 55 lbs), including single and assisted lifting; willingness to ask for help when needed.
• Comfort working on your feet for extended periods and performing tasks that include walking around the facility and going up/down stairs.
• Strong attention to detail, including the ability to read, count, and match number details on a scanner and verify completed product counts.
• Reliable transportation for occasional travel to Elgin (approximately 45 minutes from Buffalo Grove).
