Job summary

Mayville Engineering Company, Inc. is seeking a material handler to coordinate movement of materials between departments and to support production schedules.

The role involves processing pick tickets, operating material handling equipment, and performing related computer transactions. Expect to follow instructions, work both independently and as part of a team, and show strong organizational and time management skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of relevant experience and/or training preferred.
• Forklift certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates material movement between departments per routing requirements.
• Sorts questionable materials per Quality Control's request.
• Prints and distributes pick tickets and performs computer transactions as necessary.
• Organizes sequence of pulling material and relays information to Material Support.
• Ensures production schedules are met by timely and accurate processing and movement of goods. Assists during daily peak times to include operating material handling equipment and perform all necessary computer transactions.
• Ensures good communication and feedback with management, employees on their shift, and between shifts.
• When assigned, assists the supervisor/area manager with Continuous Improvement Projects, evaluation of new equipment, determination of training needs and interviewing/hiring.
• Monitors and enforces shop floor control systems.
• Follows all safety procedures, wears proper PPE. Proactively identifies and corrects unsafe conditions.
• Studies systems and procedures for opportunities for improvement. Proposes changes to Materials Manager.
• Other duties as assigned.
