Job summary

Harsco in Columbia, SC is seeking a Material Handler to accurately move, track, and document materials within a manufacturing facility. You will support production by ensuring timely delivery of materials, maintaining inventory accuracy, and executing shipping and receiving processes safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include material handling and delivery, picking and staging, receiving, shipping, and inventory control.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in manufacturing or warehouse preferred.
• Experience with inventory systems (ERP/WMS) is a plus.
• Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Transport raw materials, components, and finished goods to and from production areas.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials to support production schedules.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment safely.
• Accurately pick materials based on work orders, pick lists, or system requests.
• Stage materials for production or shipment in designated areas.
• Receive incoming shipments and verify against purchase orders and packing slips.
• Inspect materials for damage or discrepancies and report issues promptly.
• Accurately enter received goods into inventory systems.
• Prepare and package outbound shipments according to company and customer requirements.
• Generate and verify shipping documentation (BOLs, packing lists, labels).
• Coordinate with carriers to ensure timely pickups.
• Perform cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain accuracy.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Maintain proper stock rotation (FIFO or as required).
• Identify, segregate, and process scrap or non-conforming materials.
• Accurately record scrap transactions in inventory systems.
