Job summary

Johnson Controls in the United States is seeking a Materials Flow Manager to oversee end-to-end material movement across the supply chain, coordinating inbound receiving and outbound sub-assembly production to ensure on-time availability.

You will drive lean initiatives, manage inventory levels, collaborate with purchasing, and lead a team to reduce costs while maintaining service levels, with a focus on kanban, JIT, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5-10+ years of experience in materials management, logistics, or supply chain operations.
• 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (AS400 preferred).
• Strong analytical skills with experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Demonstrated ability to lead process improvements and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Materials Planning & Flow Optimization: Design, implement, and continuously improve material flow processes across both facilities.
• Inventory Management: Analyze demand forecasts and production schedules to align material availability.
• Production Support: Collaborate with production, planning, and scheduling teams to ensure timely material availability.
• Logistics & Warehousing: Oversee storage, and internal distribution of materials.
• Process Improvement & Lean Initiatives: Lead continuous improvement projects focused on flow, efficiency, and waste reduction.
• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop materials, warehouse, and logistics team members
