Job description

Overview

As a Materials Manager you will hold direct accountability for materials results and administration within the plant. You will manage delivery performance, inventory control, material‑control processes, supplier planning, warehouse management, and team staffing, development, and budgeting. You will implement tools, systems, and processes that improve operating efficiencies and reduce costs for the plant and its supply chains.

Key Responsibilities

• Planning and Customer Delivery: lead short‑term and mid‑term scheduling activities, monitor and report on the accuracy of production plans and schedules, manage daily support of production needs (expediting material, setting priorities, addressing supply issues), and ensure on‑time delivery of raw materials and finished goods.
• Collaborate with the Supply Planning Manager on capacity requirements planning.
• Partner with Procurement to support material cost‑reduction goals for purchased parts and to plan components and raw materials from approved suppliers, including management of consignment and blanket purchase‑order programs.
• Inventory Management: lead inventory‑control and planning activities, coordinate cycle counts, physical inventories, receiving, warehousing, shipping, identification and disposition of excess and obsolete inventory, and scheduling and movement for all outside‑processing inventory locations.
