Job summary

OSI Optoelectronics is seeking a Materials Expeditor to coordinate and expeditethe flow of materials, parts and WIP, while adjusting production schedules to maximize on-time delivery in an optoelectronics manufacturing environment.

The role liaises between production and operations, tracking material availability, shortages, schedule risks and priority changes to support timely replenishment and schedule execution. Strong communication and ERP experience are required.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; degree may substitute.
Experience in expediting, production control, or materials coordination.
Familiarity with ERP systems and basic office software.
Ability to read and interpret production docs and travelers.
Strong written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

Move materials to align with production priorities and line needs.
Liaise between production floor and operations to communicate needs and risks.
Track material availability, progress, shortages, and completion status.
Review constraints with planning and purchasing for timely replenishment.
Facilitate material flow between stockroom, receiving, and production to minimize downtime.
Ensure materials issued to production are accurate and documented.
Support staging and prioritization for scheduled and urgent builds.
Maintain timely records of shortages and status updates.
Uphold company values and ethics; report quality problems promptly.
Duties may be modified to meet business needs.
