Responsibilities

• Receives, examines and determines the condition and disposition of a wide variety of materials.
• Reviews disposal turn-in document accompanying material and compares data against property.
• Visually inspects usable property for condition and determines acceptability.
• Determines condition, reportability and special handling requirements (e.g., DEMIL, hazardous material) and assigns classification instructions.
• Verifies accuracy of demilitarization codes and maintains segregated storage of property requiring DEMIL.
• Ensures proper certification is attached to turn-in document when demilitarized by host or generating activity.
• Performs special and periodic inventory of property; re-palletizes/re-locates property as necessary.
• Operates forklifts and related materials handling equipment to move, load and unload, stack or un-stack palletized materials.
