General Dynamics NASSCO in San Diego seeks a Materials Analyst responsible for analyzing current and projected material requirements to support ship repair and modernization projects. Review specifications and drawings, identify long-lead items, and prepare cost estimates.

You will collate materials by commodity, solicit supplier prices, and price non-bid items for bids, while communicating risks to the supervisor. Requires knowledge of shipboard materials and strong analytical skills.

Competenze

• High school graduate with two years of directly related Materials analysis experience.
• Knowledge of ship repair materials and nomenclature.
• Experience with shipboard systems, equipment and spaces; understanding material costs for repairs and maintenance.
• Ability to interpret work item specifications and write inquiries for clarification.
• Track ongoing work and relate material estimating to cost reports and POs.
