Job summary

Wolfspeed in Durham, NC seeks a Materials Equipment Supervisor to lead maintenance of production and test equipment in a fast-paced wafer fabrication environment. The role focuses on reducing downtime, improving reliability, and guiding a technicians team. Initial duties include overseeing preventive maintenance and repair programs.

You will collaborate with operations and process engineers, drive 5S practices, and mentor staff to meet throughput and quality targets on a 12-hour shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience in a high-volume manufacturing field with equipment support/repair services.
• Demonstrated technical understanding and previous experience in a leadership role.
• Prior management experience preferred, but not required.
• Understanding of semiconductor processes and equipment in fabrication is preferred.
• Willing to work a 12-hour manufacturing shift.

Responsibilities

• Manage the installation, preventative maintenance, and repair of semiconductor fabrication equipment
• Interface with the Manufacturing Operations team on supporting daily production priorities based on bottlenecks and throughput goals
• Screen and select candidates for the Equipment team to fulfill ramp and attrition requirements
• Support and influence 5S methodology, ensuring a clean, safe, organized workplace to reduce waste and optimize productivity
• Work with process engineering and production staff to improve quality metrics, SPC, Scrap, Rework and cost reduction

The person in this role will provide leadership in maintaining production equipment in a manner that meets company standards and ensures minimum equipment downtime. The person in this role will oversee a team of technicians that repair and maintain the production and test equipment. The person in this role will establish and maintain preventive maintenance programs and procedures.
