Job summary

Mercury Marine is seeking a Materials Engineering Co-op in Fond du Lac, WI. You will join a collaborative engineering team responsible for the metal melting process used to manufacture outboard and sterndrive motors for recreational boating.

You will learn to work with operations leaders, supervisors, technicians, and production operators on the floor, owning projects from inception to completion while contributing to continuous improvement and learning opportunities across the plant.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in BS program with specific majors (Material Science, IE, ME or related) and analytics emphasis.
• Sophomore year with at least 48 completed credits.
• Available for full-time 40+ hours weekly during Jan-Aug 2027 or May-Dec 2027.
• Must be able to enroll in a formal co-op program through your university.
• Able to lift up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Test chemical properties of alloys used in production for casting processes.
• Analyze chemical properties for aluminum and tool steel.
• Collaborate with full-time team members across multiple plants on projects.
• Develop and edit operating procedures.
