Eaton’s IS VEH Technology division seeks a Materials Engineer for our Marshall, MI site. This full-time, on-site role involves metallurgical testing, lab execution, and cross-functional project support for product development and manufacturing.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Materials Science/Engineering and METLAB familiarity; relocation assistance is available within the US. Salary ranges from $71,000 to $105,000 with standard Eaton benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Materials Science or related field.
• Minimum one year experience with METLAB techniques for ferrous metallurgy, heat treating, or failure analysis.
• Experience in a metallurgical lab environment and cross-functional teams preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support materials engineering projects related to new product development, design validation, manufacturing support, and failure analysis.
• Review test requests and develop test plans with engineers.
• Coordinate laboratory work to meet project schedules and deliverables.
• Conduct metallurgical characterization and testing including macro/micro photography, sample preparation, and microstructure evaluation.
• Perform XRF elemental analysis, Carbon/Sulfur analysis.
• Carry out fractography and advanced analysis using SEM/EDX.
• Prepare engineering reports, test summaries, and presentations.
