Howmet Aerospace invites motivated engineering students to join the Materials Engineer Intern program at its Research and Development Center in Whitehall, MI. You will work with engineers and scientists to support materials and process needs across global facilities.

Typical duties include evaluation, characterization, diagnostics, and data analytics, with hands-on experience in a structured 10–14 week summer program designed to add direct value to the business.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum completion of Sophomore level coursework by May 2027.
• U.S. work authorization; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Conduct, document and present evaluations in material characterization and data analytics.
• Support material characterization laboratories with testing anomalies and equipment qualification.
• Collaborate with technical teams at Howmet sites to solve material problems.
