Howmet Aerospace Inc. is seeking Materials Engineer Interns for the Whitehall, MI Research and Development Center.
The program runs 10-14 weeks, with hands-on work supporting production facilities globally and opportunities to present findings to plant managers. Candidates must be pursuing an engineering degree with sophomore coursework completed by May 2027, and should possess strong communication and analytical skills.

Our Materials Engineer Interns will be located in our Research and Development Center in Whitehall, MI. We are seeking highly motivated and energetic students to join our team. These positions will work as part of a team of Engineers and Scientists tasked with providing materials and process support for all Howmet Aerospace production facilities globally.
Typical duties include:
The 2027 Summer Internship Programconsists of 10-14 weeks of structured hands-on training involving plant tours, lunch & learn seminars, fun networking events to connect with fellow interns, and projects selected to add direct value to the business. At the conclusion of the program, each intern will present their projects to plant managers, supervisors, and mentors. An internship at Howmet Aerospace will provide an invaluable experience that you can utilize in any role, and it’s Howmet's goal to evaluate our interns for potential entry-level openings.
