Job summary

Universal Instruments in New York's Town of Conklin is seeking a Warehouse Associate to receive, store and issue service and manufacturing supplies, and maintain accurate stock records. You will verify inbound shipments, enter requisition data in SAP, and ensure proper identification across receiving, storage, picking and shipping.

You will work with RF scanners, barcode systems, and basic packing requirements, participate in cycle counts, and help determine efficient storage locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain forklift certification within the first month.
• Basic math skills for counting and verification.
• Ability to read and write and carry out written/oral instructions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming material to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoices.
• Inputs requisition information into SAP or other systems to confirm that material has been received.
• Selects appropriate locations for material according to identifying information such as style, size, type of material or part numbers.
• Ensures proper product identification throughout receiving, storage, picking and shipping processes.
• Assists in cycle counting and stock verification to ensure inventory integrity.
• Assists in determining methods for storage, identification and stock location considering space and weight limits.
• Gains proficiency with fork trucks, hand trucks or OPRs and other distribution equipment.
• Uses RF equipment, carousel operation and barcoding to handle parts.
• Compares information and counts/weights items for outgoing shipments and routes accordingly.
• May compile reports on stock adjustments and shipment refusals.
• Selects and assembles containers, tapes for closure, and posts shipping charges.
• Examines outgoing shipments to meet packaging requirements and maintains department inventory.
