Material Coordinator - O&M North Slope Construction
JOB SUMMARY
The Material Coordinator position is responsible for ensuring materials are purchased, received, processed, and distributed to meet project material requirements and constraints. This position coordinates logistics and implements purchasing and documentation processes to meet schedules for project.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Evaluate project specifications and engineered drawings for material takeoffs and substitutions.
- Provide material status report on permanent materials as follows: total quantities ordered, received quantities stored onsite, quantities ordered but not received.
- Report on the status of line haul trucks for the day as well as daily consumables required to sustain the crews.
- Interface with project and construction managers as well as craft foreman and field crews to provide material delivery updates and to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Ensure related project documents are forwarded to the appropriate client point of contact.
- Maintain and report material sourcing through approved vendors and freight forwarders.
- Receive and inspect materials to project specifications, including review of receiving documents for accuracy.
- Supervise material warehousing and ensure items are stored according to corporate and client requirements.
- Copy/scan and file all receipts, invoices, Bill of Ladings, including any material documentation at the project site office.
- Compile receipts, invoices, Bill of Ladings, including any material documentation and send to the corporate office to process for payment.
- Experience with and an intellectual understanding of industrial electrical materials is highly preferred.
- Coordinate delivery and receiving of materials to job-specific locations.
- Attend morning Foremen's meeting to provide daily material status report and address material requests or issues.
- Ensure vendor and related project documents are forwarded to Document Control such as material test reports and/or MSDS documents to the Safety department.
- Enforce all safety and material guidelines.
- Provide leadership in applying best standards of practice to all programs, activities, and project operations.
- Other duties will be assigned to this position as needs require.
- Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
- Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Have a High school diploma or GED equivalent
- A valid (U.S issued) Driver's License is required.
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- A minimum of five (5) years' experience in Materials Procurement and Logistics are required.
