Job summary

Great Dane is hiring a Materials Coordinator to manage material flow in the plant, verify inventories, and coordinate with forklift drivers to meet production targets.

You will input part numbers in JDE and RFGen, read blueprints and production schedules, and perform 5S. This role requires forklift certification, basic math, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Education: GED or high school diploma is preferred.
• Experience: Prior heavy assembly work is preferred.
• Must be able to perform work with little supervision.
• Forklift certification required.
• Ability to read a tape measure and other measuring tools.
• Basic computer/data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigates issues with material and inventory variances. Recommends possible solutions, resolutions, etc.
• Posts and maintains material planning & NCM files.
• Prioritizes inventory moves to effectively support uninterrupted production.
• Identify locations where material should be placed by forklift driver.
• Perform 5S in areas of responsibility.
• Return to stock material that is no longer needed.
• Prepare information about what material is needed where and when and at what quantity.
• Coordinate delivery of material with forklift drivers.
• Assist Cycle Counters in counting lineside material.
• Facilitate and coordinate NCM process for respective areas.
