Job summary

Amcor is seeking a qualified Materials Planner to continuously improve production planning, inventory control and logistics, ensuring high-quality containers reach customers on time. The role partners with Production, Maintenance and Warehouse teams to optimize scheduling, materials sourcing, and reporting.

A Bachelor's degree and 3+ years in a plastics materials role are required, with experience in raw materials and inventory management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Combined experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of three years experience in a materials position preferably in plastics manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of raw materials and inventory in plastics environment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs production planning on a daily basis and monthly scheduling to maximize equipment efficiencies.
  • Enter sales orders and subsequent changes to guarantee the delivery of customer requirements.
  • In accordance with company policy, purchase the raw materials needed by the production department to manufacture quality containers efficiently.
  • Communicate directly with customers to satisfy product and delivery needs information or planning requirements, and materials specifications.
  • Supervise and assist with inventory control through cycle counting, production scheduling, and warehousing.
  • Assists and performs regular maintenance on the manufacturing database to provide optimum use and accurate reporting.
  • Provides training to materials and warehouse departments. This encompasses the warehouse supervisor, cycle counter, and administrative clerk. Indirect responsibilities include the line drivers, materials handlers, and loaders. Responsibilities include compliance of all company policies including continuous improvement.

Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION

Continuously improve the facility’s production planning, inventory control, customer service, and logistics. Provide support to the Production, Maintenance, and Warehouse Departments in order to provide high-quality containers in greater numbers at a superior level of service to the customer.

Salary Range

The starting salary for this position is expected to be between $64,000 to $80,500. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Position may also be eligible for Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, as well as medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.
The salary range provided reflects the anticipated base pay for this role at the time of this posting. This range is applicable to positions performed in jurisdictions with pay transparency requirements, including CA, CO, CT, HI, IL, MD, MA, MN, NV, NJ, NY, RI, VT, WA, Washington DC, as well as remote roles that may be performed in these locations. Compensation for roles performed outside of these jurisdictions may vary. The Company reserves the right to modify this range at any time.
