Job summary

Bock Corporation is seeking a Warehouse Associate in Madison to handle order picking, shipping, and receiving. You will verify stock, prepare Bills of Lading, and ensure accurate packing and labeling for shipments.

Responsibilities include operating a forklift, staging shipments, and maintaining inventory organization while following safety and 5S standards. CDL requirements are preferred for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Move trailers between yard and loading docks as needed.
  • Provide materials to the shop floor to support production.

Job description

  • Prepare orders for shipment according to pick tickets and customer requirements.
  • Pick and prepare LTL shipments and coordinate carrier pickups.
  • Pick trailer shipments based on load sheets.
  • Check inventory to verify the availability of required stock.
  • Notify the Manager of any shortages.
  • Prepare shipping documentation.
  • Stage shipments, print shipping labels, apply labels to crates, and scan item and serial numbers into TCM production software.
  • Print Bills of Lading and Packing Slips.
  • Ensure packing lists and shipping documents match the product being loaded.
  • Load products onto trucks using a forklift.
Receiving
  • Receive and unload incoming materials and compare packing slips to purchase orders to verify shipment accuracy.
  • Review packing slips and verify received materials against actual merchandise.
  • Sort, count, package, label, and unpack received inventory.
  • Inspect shipments for damage, loss, or defects and notify the Supervisor of any findings.
  • Enter received inventory into TCM warehouse software.
  • Verify TCM data entry accuracy by running end-of-day receipts reports and comparing them to packing slips.
  • Stock warehouse shelves and maintain inventory organization.
Material Control and Housekeeping
  • Maintain consistent adherence to 5S principles.
  • Manage warehouse space and maximize storage efficiency.
  • Supply materials to assembly lines and move finished goods to the finished goods warehouse.
  • Operate the company yard tractor to move 53-foot trailers in and out of loading docks (CDL required).
  • Move trailers between the rear yard and loading docks approximately two to three times per week (10% of job duties).
  • Provide materials to the shop floor to support daily production requirements.
Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two years of warehouse experience in receiving, production, or shipping operations.
Skills and Abilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with coworkers and external customers, including truck drivers.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow standard operating procedures.
  • Strong math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using various units of measure.
  • Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and demonstrate excellent time-management skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Forklift certification required (provided onsite; valid driver\'s license required).
  • Ability to operate a semi-truck and trailer; a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a CDL Class A license and Federal DOT Medical Card after employment is required.
  • Ability to operate material-handling equipment, including dollies, pallet jacks, and forklifts, for loading and unloading materials and equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and equipment.
  • Frequent walking, standing, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Ability to lift and/or carry 50 pounds or more of materials and products.
  • Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE), including, but not limited to, safety glasses, hearing protection, and work boots. Loose-fitting clothing and jewelry are prohibited.
  • Work environment may be extremely dirty and dusty.
  • Communicate directly and honestly while demonstrating respect for others.
