Job summary

Applied Medical Technology, Inc. (AMT) seeks a Materials Co-op in its Engineering department in Brecksville, OH.

The student will plan, execute, and analyze experiments (tensile tester, DSC, rheometer, FTIR, microscopy) and learn fundamentals of chemistry for silicone rubbers, adhesives, polyurethanes and silanes. Exposure to Minitab, data analysis and DOE is included, in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Major fields: Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
• Interest in chemistry, polymers, and/or materials science.
• Completion of college general chemistry with lab is required.
• Completion of an organic chemistry class is a plus.
• Previous hands-on co-op or research experience is a plus.
• Exposure to basic statistics is a plus.
• Undergrad or masters students will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, analyze, summarize and present experiments using tensile tester, DSC, rheometer, FTIR, and microscopy.
• Learn fundamentals of chemistry for silicone rubbers, silicone adhesives, polyurethane, silanes.
• Get acquainted with Minitab, data analysis, and DOE.
• Work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
